Lockport CARES is a new ministry composed of volunteers from several local churches spanning many different denominations from our area and is now providing an emergency homeless shelter with twelve beds here in the city. Jim Haid, who is coordinating this effort, is seeking additional volunteers and donations to help sustain this worthy cause. If you feel called to help, please contact 433-5252
CARE—Call and Reassure Elders is a free Telephone Reassurance Program for all elderly or disabled homebound individuals in need of a phone call to ensure their safety. Did you know the Dale Association has an “INCHARGE Home Care Program”, empowering consumers to self direct their homecare? Consumers recruit, hire, train, supervise, and schedule and if needed, dismiss the Care Aides of their choice. It is INCHARGE’s goal to empower people with disabilities to maintain their independence at home and to assist them with activities of daily living.
